A late-night journey turned into a memorable fan moment for Malayalam superstar Mammootty after his car reportedly lost its way while returning to Kerala from Tamil Nadu. What began as a difficult road trip eventually ended with the actor receiving help from an unexpected quarter. According to X (formerly Twitter), the incident occurred when Mammootty was travelling back to Kerala after completing a film shoot in Karaikudi. His car, carrying producer Anto Joseph, actor Ramesh Pisharody, George and driver Unni, reportedly ran into trouble near Tirupattur after a highway was found closed. Even Google Maps couldn’t help the group locate a suitable alternative route. After spending more than an hour trying different roads, the team reportedly stopped at a petrol station near Pattamangalam to ask for directions. That’s when a young man named Pandian recognised Mammootty and offered to help.
Fan rides 10 km on bike to show Mammootty the route to Kerala
Pandian reportedly asked Mammootty and his team to follow him and immediately took off on his bike ahead of the car. He guided the vehicle through smaller roads and shortcuts that weren’t easily visible on Google Maps, travelling nearly 10 kilometres ahead of Mammootty’s car before helping the team reach the main highway. Once they got there, Pandian reportedly told them to continue straight towards Kerala. Mammootty was visibly touched by the gesture and reportedly referred to him as “our friend” while following his bike. A video of the incident also shows the actor sharing a light moment and singing while travelling behind Pandian.

The touching moment didn’t end with directions. Ramesh Pisharody reportedly pointed out that people might not believe Pandian if he later told them he had helped Mammootty find his way during the early morning hours. Mammootty then got down from the car, took Pandian’s phone and asked Pisharody to click a photograph of the two of them together. He also warmly embraced the fan and asked his name. Pandian introduced himself, turning an ordinary night into a memorable meeting with his favourite star. Producer Anto Joseph later shared the video and details of the incident on social media.
