Karisma Kapoor reveals she appeared in Sushmita Sen’s iconic ‘Mehboob Mere’ song: ‘It was a very unusual situation’
Karisma Kapoor has revealed a little-known trivia about Sushmita Sen’s iconic song ‘Mehboob Mere’ from the 2000 film ‘Fiza’. Recalling the unusual sequence on ‘India’s Best Dancer’ Season 5, the actor revealed that she was also present on screen during the song while playing her character searching for Hrithik Roshan. Karisma described the experience as a “very unusual situation” and shared how strange it felt watching Sushmita perform while she looked for Hrithik amid the sand.

The revelation came on the dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer’ Season 5, which welcomed 90s music legends Anu Malik and Kumar Sanu for a special episode. Contestants Vaidehyi and Romsha performed several timeless Bollywood numbers, including ‘Mehboob Mere’, prompting Karisma to share her connection to the song.Opening up about the memory, Karisma Kapoor said, “Aap logon ko pata nahi hoga, ye trivia hai ki main bhi hoon iss gaane mein aur ye bahut hi alag situation tha aur mujhe bhi bahut ajeeb lag raha tha ki Sushmita was dancing aur main Hrithik ko dhoond rahi thi yeh gaane ke beech mein. Main reth ke beech mein main Hrithik ko, ye film Fiza ka gaana hai. So yeah, it was a very unusual situation for me (You may not know this trivia, but I am also in this song. It was a very different situation, and I found it quite strange that Sushmita was dancing while I was searching for Hrithik in the middle of the song. I was searching for Hrithik amid the sand. This is a song from the film Fiza. So, yes, it was a very unusual situation for me).”
