Priyanka Chopra is marking her much awaited return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming globetrotter project ‘Varanasi’. Recently, PeeCee shared a special birthday wish for her co-star Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu on Sunday. She posted a behind-the-scenes picture with Mahesh from their shoot diaries.

Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram stories to share her birthday wishes. In the picture, Priyanka can be seen sitting next to Mahesh Babu. The photo appears to be from the Africa schedule of ‘Varanasi’.Sharing the picture, Priyanka wrote, “Happy Birthday Bob. Here’s to going on the ultimate adventure with #Varanasi! @urstrulyMahesh (sic)”.
Over time, Priyanka Chopra has built a wholesome relationship with Mahesh Babu and his family. She has often shared pictures and moments with his wife Namrata Shirodkar and their daughter Sitara during her visit to Hyderabad.
Priyanka Chopra on joining ‘Varanasi’
Earlier, during a podcast with the Jonas Brothers, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress revealed her experience working with the ‘Varanasi’ team and talked about the film. The actor shared that director SS Rajamouli called her about the film. “He called me for this movie and it’s this epic adventure around the world and in time. It has taken a minute but I am so excited about it.” Talking about her role she added, “I do so many amazing slow-motion jumps in it and that’s all I can say about it.“Priyanka Chopra will be seen playing the character Mandakini in the film.
Mahesh Babu’s Rudhra look
Mahesh Babu’s birthday also brought a special update from the makers of ‘Varanasi’. The team released his first look as Rudhra from the film.Mahesh Babu can be seen sitting on a bamboo raft in a relaxed pose in one picture. The second one shows him standing in the middle of the wilderness. The makers shared the pictures with the caption, “Fierce isn’t his only shade… RUDHRA in #Varanasi. @urstrulyMahesh (sic).”The film also features Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran as the main villain playing Kumbha. The film is currently in the production stage and is being shot with IMAX cameras. It is set to release on April 7, 2027.
