Emraan Hashmi is reprising his role as Shivam Pandit, a character first introduced in the 2007 film Awarapan. His return has emerged as one of the biggest attractions surrounding the new instalment. According to News24, Hashmi has reportedly charged between Rs 10 crore and Rs 12 crore for Awarapan 2, making him the highest-paid actor associated with the project. The sequel is expected to take Shivam Pandit’s story forward while introducing a fresh set of circumstances and characters. The original film also starred Shriya Saran and was directed by Mohit Suri.
Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi’s reported fees
Disha Patani, who plays Zara in ‘Awarapan 2’, has reportedly been paid around Rs 5 crore for the project, according to the same report. Veteran actor Shabana Azmi, also among the prominent names associated with the action thriller, has reportedly received between Rs 2 crore and Rs 5 crore. The film’s supporting cast includes Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, and other actors, though their respective remuneration has not been disclosed.
Nitin Kakkar takes over as director for the sequel
‘Awarapan 2’ features a new filmmaker at the helm. While Mohit Suri directed the 2007 original, Nitin Kakkar has taken over directorial duties for the sequel. The story for the second instalment has been written by Bilal Siddiqui, while the music features contributions from Amaal Mallik and Mithoon. The album includes tracks such as Ve Junoon, Yeh Awarapan, and Tera Mera Rishta Continues.
